New building at Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital nearing completion
CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin would soon inaugurate a new hospital tower with 441 beds at Chennai’s Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, health minister Ma Subramanian said on Wednesday.After inspecting the campus, the minister said civil work was nearing completion. Funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and constructed at a cost of around Rs 358.87 crore, the tower will have a built-up area of 2.6 lakh square feet. Equipped with thirteen operation theatres, including hybrid ones, and facilities like MRI and digital X-ray, the building is expected to be fully operational by September.
