CHENNAI: The administrative and executive councils of
Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) will meet at the party’s office in Alwarpet here at 10.30am on Saturday. Party president and Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Hasaan would preside over the meetings, said the party’s general secretary A Arunachalam in a release.

MNM, which contested its maiden assembly polls alone in 2021, drew a blank. The party, later, extended support to the DMK-led alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls but was not offered a seat. DMK promised a Rajya Sabha seat to MNM. As promised, Kamal Hasaan was offered the seat. The DMK alliance won all 39 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu and the lone seat in Puducherry in 2024.
