MDMK forms panel for seat discussions

Chennai: Soon after the DMK formed a seven-member panel to discuss seat allocation for allies for the assembly poll, MDMK chief Vaiko announced his party's four-member panel for discussions. It includes party presidium chairman Arjunraj and treasurer M Senthilathipan. In 2021, MDMK contested six seats on DMK's ‘rising sun' symbol and won four. The party is now determined to contest under its own free symbol, the ‘matchbox'. "We lost ‘recognition' status of Election Commission in 2010. We need to win more seats if we are to get back our position," said a senior MDMK leader. TNN
