Man jumps to death after tiff with wife

CHENNAI: A 32-year-old newlywed man leaped to his death from the fourth floor of a building at Tsunami Nagar near Thiruvottiyur on Wednesday night after his wife refused to leave her parents’ house.
Police said Thyagarajan, a mechanic, had gone to persuade his wife Kausalya to move to his parents’ house on Mint Street. She refused and after an argument, Thyagarajan left in a huff.His body was found in the compound of the house on Thursday morning.
Police said Thyagarajan and Kausalya got married a month ago. The couple often fought over her refusal to shift out of her parents house. On Wednesday, too, they had a fight during which her family members advised Thyagarajan to wait for some time before shifting to another house. This allegedly upset him and he killed himself, police said.
