Man files plaint, says wife, lover sold kid

PERAMBALUR: A 30-year-old man has lodged a complaint with the Perambalur collector, seeking help from police to rescue his one-month-old son allegedly sold by his wife and her boyfriend.

In a petition on Tuesday, R Saravanan, a daily wager of Athiyur village, said he and Divya, 26, have two daughters and two sons.

A year ago, she ran away with her boyfriend Dhinesh. Saravanan said he traced them to a nearby village and brought his wife back to his house recently. However, she refused to live with him and left with their boy. Saravanan alleged that Divya and Dhinesh sold the baby to someone in V Kalathur in Perambalur for ₹10,000.

His two daughters and a son were under the care of his mother. On December 12, Dhinesh came to Saravanan's mother's house on a bike and kidnapped a daughter and a son as well leaving another daughter behind.

Expressing fears that Dhivya and Dhinesh would sell the two other children too, Saravanan urged the collector to direct the police to trace and rescue the children.
