Liver screening camp conducted for Tambaram cops

CHENNAI: More than 300 personnel from Tambaram police commissionerate participated in a comprehensive liver screening camp at in Gleneagles HealthCity on Saturday.

C Maheshwari, additional commissioner of police, headquarters and traffic, Tambaram, inaugurated the camp.

Police personnel often endure high levels of stress and irregular working hours, which affect their liver health adversely.

The camp, aimed at promoting liver health and early detection of liver diseases, provided police personnel with access to advanced liver screening using the FibroScan technology. This non-invasive procedure is crucial for identifying conditions like liver fibrosis and fatty liver disease, which, if detected early, can be managed effectively to prevent serious complications.

Apart from the screenings, participants were provided with educational materials on maintaining liver health, the impact of lifestyle choices and the importance of regular health check-ups.
