Puducherry recorded 48.4 cm of rainfall in 24 hours, while Mailam in Villupuram district experienced the highest rainfall at 50 cm. The severe weather claimed six lives, including two from electrocution, and disrupted daily life with power outages, flooded residential areas, and damaged roads. Rescue efforts in Puducherry, involving the Army and Indian Coast Guard, saved over 100 people. The IMD has issued alerts for continued heavy rainfall, with a red alert for four districts in Kerala and an orange alert for five districts in Tamil Nadu.
