HC dismisses petition against PM
CHENNAI: A petition seeking the dismissal of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for allegedly failing to perform his constitutional duty on the granting of 2G licences has been dismissed by the Madras high court. The plea, filed by senior advocate P R Krishnan of Anna Nagar, said that the Prime Minister had not discharged his duties by not communicating to the President the individual decision of former telecom minister A Raja on the first-come-first-serve policy while giving away licences in 2008.

The court said it could not go into the issue in light of a 2010 order by the Supreme Court that no court shall pass any order which may impair the investigation being carried out by the CBI and Directorate of Enforcement.
