CHENNAI: Air customs sleuths at

Chennai airport

seized 928 gram of

gold

, worth Rs 41.77 lakh, from a

passenger

who arrived here from

Dubai

on in the early hours of Thursday.


Following a suspicion that gold might be smuggled in, customs officials stopped Balaji Neelakandan, 31, who arrived here in an

Emirates

flight at 2.05am. A check revealed that he was carrying gold ingots concealed in his rectum.

The passenger was arrested.
