CHENNAI: If you are a green warrior, then you just may want to check this fair out.
The German International School, which declared itself completely vegan this school year, is hosting the ‘Green Love A'Fair - The Sunday EcoMarket’ on September 24 on its premises at Palavakkam.
The aim of the market is to bring together a wide variety of eco-friendly products and services to make people fall in love with going green.
“We have conducted it as a flea market twice before. This is the first time we are holding an eco-market,” says Sandhya Mohan, admissions manager of the school.
“We want to focus on the vegan brands available in Chennai. Not many are aware of it, but we have everything from vegan baby food to vegan ice creams,” she says, adding that it will also be an opportunity for non-vegans to meet and interact with the vegan community.
Apart from that, people will also be able to sell and discover useful and beautiful, up-cycled, and pre-loved goods.
“You can swap things or sell recycled and upcycled goods,” says Mohan.
People visiting the fair can also meet and get to know the animals – chickens, dogs, rabbits, even a goat and a calf – that the school has rescued and adopted.
The event will be held from 11am to 5pm on the school premises.
