CHENNAI: As the
Tamil Nadu government has relaxed Covid-19 restrictions,
Southern Railway has withdrawn the rule that double vaccination certificate is needed to travel in suburban trains in Chennai. Double vaccination certificate is not required to travel in suburban trains starting February 1. People need not submit vaccination certificates for buying tickets or season tickets.
Suburban tickets will now be available on the UTS app.
It was earlier suspended because there was no provision to upload a vaccine certificate.
However, commuters should adhere to Covid-19 appropriate behaviour such as social distancing, wearing of masks and hand hygiene, said a press release.
