Don't spread rumours on Jaya's health, says Naidu

CHENNAI: Union minister for information and broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu who visited the Apollo Hospitals on Sunday asked the public not to spread rumours regarding the health condition of Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa who has been undergoing treatment since September 22. Naidu said it was unfair to speculate on the health of the AIADMK leader. Several other prominent political leaders visited the Apollo to check on her health.

Puducherry chief minister Narayanaswamy, Tamil Maanila Congress president, G K Vasan, CPI national secretary D Raja and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss were among those who visited Apollo Hospitals on Sunday.

deputy speaker Thambidurai said Jayalalithaa was recovering well. G K Vasan wished Jayalalithaa a speedy recovery and said, "She must return home and resume her public service."

Anbumani Ramadoss said that he would like the governor C. Vidyasagar Rao to be more active in assisting the state administration. Speaking of the demand by the opposition for a deputy CM, D Raja of CPI termed it unnecessary. Raja said that the decision must be left to the state cabinet and the governor.

Former MP Tarun Vijay of BJP organised special prayers for the speedy recovery and wellness of jayalalithaa at Haridwar Ganga temple and Kedarnath.
