CHENNAI: A police team from New Delhi, led by assistant commissioner Sanjay Sherawath, brought AIADMK (Amma) faction deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran to Chennai on Thursday for further inquiry into his alleged attempt to bribe an Election Commission official to secure party’s two leaves symbol.

Party star speaker Nanjil Sampath and a few cadre shouted slogans in support of Dhinakaran when the police team brought him out of airport terminal through the third gate around 1.40pm. Sampath told reporters that Dhinakaran would soon come out of the case.

Dhinakaran and the police team had to wait for some time for the arrival of their baggage. Later, the police took him to Rajaji Bhavan at Besant Nagar where he would be grilled further.
