Cyclone Fengal: Tamil Nadu governor asks people to remain indoors

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on Saturday issued an advisory asking people to remain indoors and avoid going outside in view of Cyclone Fengal.

The governor posted on X, "Cyclonic storm Fengal and accompanying torrential rain have severely disrupted normal life in the northern coastal regions and adjoining areas of Tamil Nadu, and our people are facing immense hardship. In this difficult time, I appeal to our people to remain indoors and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. Kindly follow the advisories issued by authorities."

The governor said central and state agencies were working tirelessly to deal with this emergency.

"Some voluntary organisations are also doing their best to mitigate the people’s sufferings. Let us remain optimistic and patient in dealing with this natural disaster," the governor said.
