Chennai hospital opens cancer care centre
Chennai: Iswarya Hospital inaugurated the Iswarya Cancer Centre at its OMR Taramani campus on Sunday. The centre brings cutting-edge oncology services, including high-precision radiotherapy, immunotherapy, complex cancer surgeries, and an AI-powered PET-CT scan for accurate early detection and evaluation of cancer. Actor Sathyaraj opened the facility in the presence of hospital's CEO S Rajasundaram and managing director Arun Muthuvel.

According to a release, the centre brings together comprehensive oncology services under one roof, including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, bone marrow transplant, paediatric oncology, preventive oncology, nuclear medicine and theranostics, onco-pathology, and palliative care. "One of the biggest challenges we face is late diagnosis, which significantly reduces survival outcomes. The introduction of AI-powered PET-CT technology and high-precision radiotherapy at the Iswarya Cancer Centre allows us to detect disease earlier, assess its spread more accurately, and guide treatment decisions with greater confidence," Dr Rajasundaram said. "The launch represents a major milestone in expanding our oncology services.," Dr Muthuvel said.
