CHENNAI: David Williams, a 72-year-old man from UK, has been admitted to the Government General Hospital in a coma. He is undergoing treatment.
The man, who arrived in the country on May 28 on a visa valid till November 27, was found unconscious on a platform in front of an Egmore hotel on Friday.
Seeing his bags strewn around, autorickshaw drivers in the area alerted police.
Williams was subsequently rushed to GH in an ambulance by police.
Hospital sources said the patient was admitted as an unknown case late on Friday.
Since he was in a critical condition, he was shifted from the casualty ward to the intensive care unit on Saturday afternoon.
