CHENNAI: The bodies of two more students, who drowned in the sea off Thiruvottiyur with two others, washed ashore on Sunday. The body of one more person is yet to be traced.

, was celebrating his birthday with seven friends on Saturday. The Class X students, after sharing some cake, decided to visit

KVK Kuppam beach

, 5km from Rakesh's house. They reached the beach around 3pm.

While some decided to stay on the shore, Dhanush, of Mathur village, Jayabharathi, of Chinnasekkadu village, Gokulnath, of Thamaraikulam, and Sunil Kumar, of Periyathope, went for a swim in the sea but were dragged in deeper. The

Security Coastal Guard

were alerted and, with the help on fishermen in fibre boats, started searching for the boys. The fishermen spotted Dhanush's body and brought him ashore. Sunil Kumar's body washed ashore near Kasimedu on Sunday morning and Jayabharathi's body washed ashore on Sunday evening. Police said there was no sign of Gokulnath yet.

The Thiruvottiyur police have registered a case and sent the bodies to Government Stanley Hospital. Further investigations are on.
