is back to where it started over three years ago with the launch of Chennai as its 17th destination along with the induction of the 15th aircraft. And this time, the airline is back to the gateway of South India, solidifying its presence by launching five daily flights connecting Chennai to Bengaluru and
Bhubaneshwar
.
“With the
AirAsia group already operating direct flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok from Chennai, we expect a boom in inbound and outbound tourism across the region,” the company said. “We ended 2017 on a highly positive note and are delighted to continue the same momentum in 2018,” said Amar Abrol, MD & CEO, AirAsia India.
“Chennai has always been close to our heart since we started off from there and has always been a popular route among guests. We expect that the Chennai –Bhubaneswar route will boost religious/cultural tourism from both markets,” he said.
Bookings for all the new sectors are now open for sale. “Guests can book their flights on www.airasia.com and avail all in fares from as low as Rs 1,299 and Rs 2,699 for flights connecting Bangalore and Chennai and Bhubaneshwar and Chennai respectively,” AirAsia said.
Effective February 24, 2018, AirAsia India will operate three daily flights between Chennai and Bengaluru and two daily flights between Chennai and Bhubaneshwar.
