AIADMK general council meeting to be held in Chennai on Jan 9

CHENNAI: The AIADMK on Monday announced that its

general council

and executive committee

meeting

will be held on January 9. Party coordinator O Pannerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami will jointly address the first election rally on December 27.

In a statement, the leaders said the meeting of the supreme bodies would take place in a private hall in Vanagaram. Presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan will preside over the meeting.

“The invites will be sent separately to the members. The participants will have to come with Covid-19 test reports and maintain physical distance and wear masks,” they said. The general council will authorise the leadership on the chief ministerial candidate, alliance and campaign.

The election rally will take place at YMCA Grounds in Royapettah. The leaders said the party would take to the masses the historic achievements of the former chief ministers, M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa, and that of the present government to continue its victory march.
