Chennai: A 27-year-old dentist was found hanging in her clinic in Kelambakkam on Saturday night. She was identified as S Sushmitha of Puducherry.
The deceased was running the clinic in Sai Baba Koil street for nearly a year and was also working at a private medical college-cum-hospital in Nellikuppam.
The incident came to light when a patient came to meet her at 7.30pm and found the door of the room closed for a long time.

Since repeated knocks did not elicit any response, he looked through the window and found her hanging from a ceiling fan.
The Kelambakkam police moved the body to Chengalpet Government Hospital for postmortem and informed Sushmitha's parents.
Sushmitha was in a relationship with a man working in a luxury hotel in the neighbourhood, police said. She met the man at the hotel. The man used to drop her at home from the hotel and was also seen frequenting the clinic.
Recently, she told her friends that she had mounting debts and was unable to pay them off. She was upset as her boyfriend had stopped visiting as she expressed suicidal tendencies, police said.
"She had made many calls to the man's mobile. She could have committed suicide following a fight with him," said Kelambakkam police inspector Govind.
