A 26-year old UK returned youth along with his two other associates escaped in a SUV after opening three gunshots and injuring a 28-year old Jaswinder Singh near a famous eating point located at the main road near Kharar on Tuesday night.

MOHALI: A 26-year old UK returned youth along with his two other associates escaped in a SUV after opening three gunshots and injuring a 28-year old Jaswinder Singh near a famous eating point located at the main road near Kharar on Tuesday night.
Prime accused Talwinder Singh, alias Tally, is a UK passport holder and a native of Nakodar in Jalandhar district, returned from England two months back.

Injured Jaswinder is admitted in Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH)-32 and his condition said to be stable.
The case was registered following the statement of Manvir Singh, alias Dimple of Ludhiana, who is a friend of injured Jaswinder and used to run a DJ music house.
Police said reason behind the shootout is money dispute and involvement of a female dancer, who is working with the complainant, is also being probed in this regard.
In his statement to police, Manvir stated, "There is a Savita named female dancer working with his group for last four years and she had gone to England in November, 2012 and joined back his group after returning from England in January, 2013. Savita had taken Rs 2.50 lakh from me and when I demanded my money from her, Tally contacted me claiming he will return the money."

SHO of PS Sadar, Inspector Manjeet Singh, said the dancer came in the contact of accused Tally during her stay in England and complainant Manvir had also tried to meet her at her residence in Zirakpur for his money prior before receiving a call from Tally. The dancer was also questioned in this regard and during her questioning, it came to light that prime accused is a native of Nakodar.
Sources said Tally was accompanied with two youths and when Manvir started conversation with him, all of them turned violent and one of them pulled his revolver and opened gunshots.
SSP (Mohali) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said a lookout notice against prime accused UK returned Tally has been issued and his relatives are being questioned in this regard. A case under various charges included attempt to murder and Arms Act was registered at Kharar (Sadar) police station.
