Two appointed as board of finance members

CHANDIGARH: The syndicate on Monday appointed Prof Navdeep Goyal and Prof Ashok Goyal as members of the

Board of Finance

(BoF) for the term February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020.


Moreover, Prof Keshav Malhotra has been appointed against the vacant seat created after the demise of Dr R D Bansal for the same term.

The newly appointed members also condoled the demise of Dr Bansal, former syndic and former member of BoF, and Prof A K Bhandari, former PU fellow, former DUI, former registrar and former CoE.

PU vice-chancellor Prof Raj Kumar assured that the work of Muktsar regional centre for which Prof Bansal was passionately committed will be started shortly.

Moreover, the VC announced in the meeting that Sanjay Tandon has donated an amount of Rs 10 lakh to the university for creating an endowment fund for organising annual lectures in the memory of his late father Balramji Dass Tandon.

Radha Kishan from Panchkula has donated an amount of Rs1 lakh for the purchase of books and payment towards scholarships to the poor and needy students.

Kumar also announced that Harsh Nayyar of botany department has been sanctioned a grant of 30,000 USD by the International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA),
