Ambala: The village of Kadasan in Ambala district resonated with inspiration and national pride on Friday with the unveiling of a statue of Swami Vivekananda, as Haryana chief minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini called upon the youth to dedicate themselves to nation-building in the spirit of the great philosopher-saint.during the event, the CM also accepted a hookah from village residents. Addressing a gathering, CM Saini said Swami Vivekananda was not merely a saint, but a visionary who awakened India's dormant national consciousness. He described the statue not as a mere stone structure, but as a living symbol of inspiration, self-confidence, and patriotism for future generations. He noted that every young person visiting the site would be reminded that life's purpose extends beyond personal success to the service of society and the nation.

Congratulating the Swami Vivekananda Utthan Committee for the initiative, the chief minister said such efforts infuse positive consciousness in society. On the occasion, he announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for development works in Kadasan village and another Rs 21 lakh for the Swami Vivekananda Utthan Committee. Committee president and Haryana additional advocate general Jasvir Singh, along with villagers, honoured the CM with a turban, religious scriptures including the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Valmiki Ramayana, mementoes, a portrait of Swami Vivekananda, and a shawl.
Recalling Swami Vivekananda's historic address at the 1893 World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, the CM said the iconic opening words, "Brothers and Sisters of America", marked a proud moment in Indian history and showcased India's spiritual and cultural strength to the world. He added that just as Vivekananda elevated India's image in the 19th century, the country today is reaching new global heights under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Highlighting youth empowerment, Saini said Vivekananda regarded youth as the nation's greatest strength. Sewing machines were also distributed to 25 women during the programme.
