Storm takes 4 lives: Tree crushes vehicle, plunges it off road

Shimla: Four women teachers were killed after a powerful storm led to a pine tree falling on the Bolero they were travelling in along the Shamshar–Gugra road in Kullu's Ani area on Saturday evening.The impact caused the driver to lose control, and the vehicle — carrying the driver and six schoolteachers— plunged off the road. The deceased — Sneha Lata, Banti Kaundal, Usha Kumari and Seema Azad — died on the spot, while the injured, including driver Suresh Chand, Tara Devi and Reena Kumari, were shifted to a nearby hospital by the locals.CM expresses griefChief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and education minister Rohit Thakur expressed grief over the loss of the teachers' lives. They extended condolences to the bereaved families, prayed for the departed souls and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
