Special observer takes stock of preparedness

Special observer

for the ensuing general elections Raghav Chandra took stock of the preparedness and expressed satisfaction that the polls would be held in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Chairing the review meeting with officers of chief electoral officer (CEO) office Punjab, Chandra took stock of overall poll preparedness including adequate availability of EVMs.

Chandra emphasised the need to ensure foolproof security measures at all booths across the state which goes to polls on May 19. Chandra also reviewed the total seizure of cash, liquor, opiods, arms and ammunition during the code period.

CEO Dr S Karuna Raju apprised the special observor regarding the arrangements being made at all polling booths, training of polling personnel, webcasting of booths, C-vigil App, Suvidha App, NGSP and monitoring of print, electronic and social media. He also informed the meeting that so far 95% of licensed arms had been deposited and rest would be done soon.
