Situational comedy about romance staged

CHANDIGARH: On the concluding day of the art and heritage festival, Shri Ram Center, New Delhi, staged a comedy play titled ‘Prem Kabootar’ on Saturday.

The play, which has been written by playwright Manav Kaul , has been directed by Sameep Singh.

The comedy is a light-hearted production that evolves around situational comedy through narrative. The plot of the play brings out the era of school days, teenage love affairs, the feeling of floating romance in the air and helps you connect to the Bollywood description of affairs and fleeting romances.

The play is a story about three friends, who are trying to find love in their own respective ways. The first one is Saleem, who is a tailor and a casanova, Raju is a tea seller and the third one is Suneel, a film hero and villain both in his own rights.

Whether it is about sacrificing your love for your friendship and being a hero or envying your friendship for teenage love, these sensitivities give you restlessness and butterflies in your stomach. The play explores periphery of these emotions, weaved with the narrative.
