SIT to probe allegations against Hansi probe team

Hisar: Shrikant Jandhav, additional director general of police (ADGP), Hisar range, on Sunday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe into allegations of Hansi CIA-2 team allegedly confiscating a valuable metal idol of Lord Buddha from an Uttar Pradesh man and melting it to make eight blocks resembling god biscuits. ADGP office’s spokesperson Sajjan Singh said the SIT, to be led by Sirsa superintendent of police (SP) Arpit Jain, will comprise Hisar DSP Abhimanyu, Fatehabad-posted inspector Surendra Kumar and Hisar-posted inspector Prahlad Rai. Fatehabad SP Aastha Modi will supervise this SIT, he said.On March 17, 2023, ADGP Jadhav ordered registration of FIR, suspension and departmental inquiry against the team of Hansi CIA-2. Narwana ASP Kuldeep Singh will conduct a departmental inquiry. After this order, Hansi SP Nitika Gehlot called a press conference and defended the Hansi CIA-2 team, but could not answer questions properly and refused to register an FIR. Instead, she ordered an FIR against the complainant, Bablu, and his accomplices. After this, ADGP Jadhav sent a reminder to register the FIR.
