Sidhu alleges security lapse at Patiala house

Chandigarh: Two weeks after slamming AAP government for reducing his security cover, Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday evening claimed that there was a security lapse at his residence in Patiala.
Sidhu claimed that an “unknown suspicious character”, wrapped in a grey blanket, appeared on the terrace of his house.
The politician said such incidents will not “deter” him from raising his voice for Punjab.
The cricketer-turned-politician, released on April 1 after serving 10 months of the year’s term awarded to him over a 1988 road rage case, on April 4 had claimed that his security cover had been pruned.
“Today on the terrace of my residence, an unknown suspicious character wrapped in a grey blanket was noticed around 7pm, the moment my servant went out(, he) raised the alarm and called for help, he (the intruder) immediately ran and escaped. Have spoken to@DGPPunjabPolice and SSP Patiala has also been informed,” tweeted Sidhu.
