SHSAD leader attacks man with kirpan

LUDHIANA: Amrik Singh Kang, ex-district vice president, Shromani Akali Dal, and presently a senior party worker with the Tohra group allegedly attacked his son-inlaw''s brother Amandeep Singh with his kirpan here on Tuesday night.
It is learnt that Kang''s daughter was having some trouble with her husband, and he was seeking help from Amandeep Singh, a resident of Kuldeep Nagar, Jodhewal Basti.
He, along with his two associates, Daljit Singh and Ranjit Singh, dined at Amandeep Singh''s house on Tuesday night. After dinner they had a discussion over the issue, and presumably when Amandeep refused to toe their line, the visitors got violent.
Kang at this point attacked Amandeep Singh with his kirpan and fled the place along with the others. The police station at Jodhewal Basti has lodged an FIR for "attempt to murder".
SP City II is inquiring into the case, but so far no arrests have been made.
