Amritsar: The annual budget session of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will be held on March 28 at Teja Singh Samundri Hall here. The decision was taken on Friday by the SGPC executive committee in a meeting chaired by SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami.
Later talking to the mediapersons, Dhami said the annual budget for the year 2026-2027 would be presented during the March 28 session. During the budget meeting, the annual budgets of the SGPC, gurdwaras, the trust department, general board fund, educational institutions, printing presses, the Dharam Parchar Committee, and the Sikh History Research Board will be passed. Future initiatives and programmes to be undertaken by the SGPC will also be discussed, he said.

Dhami also informed that the executive committee extended full support to the agitation being carried out at Samana by Bhai Gurjeet Singh, demanding the enactment of a strict law against incidents of sacrilege.
The SGPC chief further said the executive committee passed a resolution condemning a recent incident in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, where a Sikh girl was reportedly asked to remove her turban and kirpan during the public service commission examination.
