CHANDIGARH: A man on a motorcycle snatched a
purse
of a woman in Sector 35 on Saturday night. Jyoti Mishra, a resident of Sector 35 D, said she was returning home from market when the accused approached from rear and grabbed her purse near a house in Sector 35 C.
She said her purse contained a mobile phone, Rs 1,000 and important documents. She called up police helpline 100. Sector 36 police reached the spot and laid a naka but failed to catch the accused. Police recorded the statement of the woman and registered a case under relevant Sections of the
Indian Penal Code
(IPC) and started probe.
Police are scrutinising CCTV footage gathered from nearby houses to get clues about the accused.
