LUDHIANA: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Inspector Legal Metrology (Weight and Measures) Ludhiana II has challaned M/s Supertek Agro Oils Private Ltd.
Rural focal point Jandali Chandigarh road Ludhiana under section 39 (2) 1,2 and section 33/51 of Standard weights and Measures (of) Act 1985.
Giving details, Anurag Verma Deputy Commissioner informed that a complaint was received in his office from Vivek Bakshi of Phullanwal, Pakhowal road Ludhiana , in which, he informed that he had purchased one liter pack (910 gm) of Savera refined oil manufactured at M/s Supertek Agro Oils Private Ltd.

rural focal point Jandali Chandigarh road Ludhiana , which he alleged was measuring only 800 gm of weight and it was badly sticking and the manufacturing date was printed 27/2/2002.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that this complaint has sent for inquiry to SDM (E) Prem Chand, who further got it inquired through the Weights and Measurement Inspector.
On thoroughly examining, the points raised in the complaints were fully substantiated. The SDM reported that on measuring the weight was found less in the packet as alleged and it was not fit for the human consumption.
The Weights and Measures department was also taking further action against the firm as per the rules.
