Saini showcases Haryana development in West Bengal poll campaign
Chandigarh: While batting for the BJP in West Bengal, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday showcased the development of his state during the election campaign in Kolkata and other places.
Saini said the people of West Bengal wanted to form a govt under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and, therefore, there was a strong wave of the saffron party across West Bengal.
Saini was interacting with journalists during his visit to West Bengal after the filing of nomination papers of the BJP candidate from Sreerampur Assembly constituency.
He also conducted a roadshow in support of the BJP candidate in Sreerampur and appealed to the people to vote in favour of the party.
"With great expectations, people formed the govt of Mamata Banerjee, but this govt has committed even more atrocities than the Communists," Saini said, adding that the people of Bengal had now made up their minds to form a BJP govt in the state. Saini said that there was neither employment in Bengal, nor were the farmers able to sell their crops at MSP and they were also not getting fair prices. "Despite having a woman chief minister, women are not safe in Bengal." He said the kind of misrule witnessed under the Mamata govt had left the public distressed.
He said, "The Mamata Banerjee govt in Bengal has given protection to infiltrators, which has harmed our economic, cultural and social fabric. The Mamata govt, embroiled in corruption, pretends to be simple, but large-scale scams are taking place under its rule".
Saini said although the Central govt had many welfare schemes, not even a single scheme had been implemented in West Bengal. Schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Kisan Samman Nidhi had not been implemented in the state due to political bias. "As a result, poverty is increasing further in Bengal, due to which people want to get rid of the Mamata govt".
The Haryana CM said the enthusiasm and energy of the people during the roadshow were remarkable. "The people here want the development of Bengal under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Industries have migrated out of Bengal, and the youth have been forced to migrate elsewhere in search of employment. The youth of Bengal are disheartened with the govt, and fear and corruption are at their peak in the state," he added.
