Saini directs timely execution of devp projects worth Rs 75 crore

Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday assessed projects worth over Rs 75 crore and stressed that any delay in execution would be viewed seriously.and directed maintaining quality standards of work.Chairing a high-level ‘Pragati' review meeting at the Haryana Civil Secretariat here, the CM reviewed major infrastructure and development projects across the state.During the meeting, special focus was laid on strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Haryana. Officials informed the CM that construction of the Mother and Child Hospital and Service Block at Faridabad Civil Hospital has achieved around 28% progress and is expected to be completed by Jan 2028. Similarly, the 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital at Sonipat Civil Hospital, being developed at a cost of Rs 138.1 crore, has recorded nearly 20% completion and is likely to be ready by Oct 2027.The CM also reviewed the construction of a 100-bed hospital at Assandh in Karnal, being built at a cost of Rs 76.1 crore, where nearly 25% work has been completed. Emphasising quality healthcare infrastructure, he directed officials to ensure the highest construction standards in all medical projects.Apart from healthcare, the meeting reviewed several major infrastructure projects, including the International Convention Centre in Sector-78, Faridabad, which has achieved nearly 50% physical progress and is expected to be completed by Feb 2027. The Maharana Pratap Horticultural University campus in Karnal, being developed at a cost of Rs 422.5 crore, has also reached around 43% completion.Officials informed the CM that approval has been granted for establishing a 90 KLPD multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat Sugar Mills at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore. The project is likely to be completed during the financial year 2027-28.Later, reviewing the transport department's five-year roadmap under Haryana Vision-2047, the CM directed officials to expand bus connectivity to every village and city across the state within a year. He stressed the need to reduce dependence on private vehicles and promote sustainable public transport, including electric buses, real-time bus tracking systems, CCTV surveillance and improved city bus services.
