Rock concert leaves audience spellbound

Patriotic zeal was writ large on the faces of music fans during the rock concert organized as part of the 63rd Independence Day celebrations at Sukhna Lake on Saturday. The two-hour-long performance by Hindi rock band - Bandish, mesmerized the audience.

CHANDIGARH: Patriotic zeal was writ large on the faces of music fans during the rock concert organized as part of the 63rd Independence Day celebrations at Sukhna Lake on Saturday. The two-hour-long performance by Hindi rock band - Bandish, mesmerized the audience.
The seven members of the Delhi-based band included Chris Powell- drummer, Deepak Nair- vocalist, Ulrich Gomez- synth player, Desmond Powell- guitarist, Brenin- bass guitarist, Bobby - percussion.

Excited on their first performance in the city, vocalist Deepak Nair, said, “It felt great to receive an overwhelming response from the crowd.”
People celebrated this day with equal panache. Shashank Mittal, a resident of Sector 22 said, “I had a wonderful time at the concert. The band?s performance was amazing.”
Food and beverage stalls, a bungee-jumping corner, sketching, camel riding and other activities were also planned for residents.
Savita Walia, a tourist from Kerala, said, “I love rock music and keep track of several local bands. Today’s concert was fabulous. Also, Independence Day celebrations made it all the more special.”
Rajbinder Kaur, resident of Sectro 7, said, “The band’s performance left me spellbound.”
Yogesh, working with an MNC, said, “I am deeply touched by the performance given by Bandish.”
