AMRITSAR : Cashing in on the growing trend for studying abroad, representatives from various US universities, under the banner of United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF), interacted with the students of Spring Dale Senior School and apprised them of the academic trends prevailing in the US universities and the courses and scholarships available for Indian students desirous of pursuing education there.
Richa Bhasin, US Advisor, USIEF, and Paul from the US Embassy in India addressed the students and answered queries about different universities in the US and the courses offered in them, reasons for studying in the US Universities, how to apply for admission and attain a visa for the US, as well as funding and scholarships available. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Principal, Spring Dale Senior School, said that the interactive session proved to be quite fruitful as the students were able to gain insights into the courses offered by the universities in the US and the procedures involved in obtaining admission in these universities.
"The USIEF was established under a bilateral agreement on educational exchange signed between India and US on February 2, 1950. USIEF promotes mutual understanding between the nationals of India and the US through educational exchanges of outstanding scholars, professionals and students," he said.
