CHANDIGARH: Three members of Panjab University Student Union (PUSU) on Wednesday started an indefinite hunger strike outside vice-chancellor's office to protest against the varsity's decision to form a committee regarding Dr HS Judge Institute of Dental Studies and Hospital director Krishan Gauba allegedly asking a girl student to unzip her jacket to see her t-shirt.
The organization demanded that immediate action be taken against the director, against whom the girl had complained.
During the protest, PUSU leader Sukhjit Singh Brar raised the demand of immediate action against institute's director. However, the university authorities refused to accept that.
Apart from Sukhjit, Rajdeep Singh Brar and Prabhjeet Singh are participating in hunger strike.
Brar said that they won't stop this protest until any action was initiated against Gauba.
Dean student welfare (DSW) Naval Kishore said that they have already formed the committee to probe the incident and university could not take action without probing the allegations.
Students have also sought that all their genuine demands, which were turned down by the director earlier, should also be met.
