Punjabi actor to stand by Muslim women, to take out march wearing 'hijab'

BATHINDA: Issues pertaining to restriction over wearing of hijab are expected to reach the poll bound Punjab on Thursday. Punjabi actor Sonia Mann has decided to wear hijab as a mark of protest and reach out to small town of Amargarh near Malerkotla taking along Muslim women for a march to protest against the dress code in Karnataka.
With Malerkotla being the only town in Punjab having considerable Muslim population, the protest is being planned there.

"Restricting students over wearing a particular dress is direct attack on their individuality. No one can enforce conditions over what should be worn or what not at educational institutions. It is matter of choice of anyone and aiming to raise this issue I will go to Amargarh where many youngsters and women have decided to stand by me to raise the issue and take out a march", Sonia Mann told TOI.
We want to stand by our Muslim sisters in this hour when restriction on wearing of hijab not only has turned into a national issue but has got international community in standing up against this as Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai has raised voice against dress code. Malala had been raising voice in favour of female education.
Earlier she had been raising voice against farm laws and was a regular face at borders of Delhi during the year long farmers' protest.
She had been visiting states in support of farmers.
