Ranjit Singh in the complex of Punjab Legislative Assembly.
Mann proposed putting up the statues of Bhagat Singh and Ambedkar saying, “As an indebted nation we can never forget the contribution of Shaheed-eAzam Bhagat Singh who laid his life for freedom of the country.
Likewise, Dr BR Ambedkar shaped the destiny of the country in preand post-independence era as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. ”
The resolution was endorsed by finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema. Congress MLA Partap Singh Bajwa proposed that a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh should also be installed.
“I would suggest that it was a golden period of Sikh Raj under him and we should also remember him along with Bhagat Singh and Ambedkar,” he said. The proposal was added to the resolution.
