“I have been informed by my brother that Gopi is getting married to Punjab CM,” said her uncle Gurjinder Singh.
Her father was the sarpanch of Madanpur village and nearly a year ago, the family bought a house in Mohali and started living there.
Dr Gurpreet Kaur, who is known as Gopi in her close family, is a practicing doctor and lives in Mohali with her family.
Mann’s wife-to-be hails from Pehowa in Kurukshetra district and studied at a medical college of Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU), Mullana in Ambala district. The two families knew each other, and Mann’s mother and sister chose the bride-to-be, said party sources.
Mann’s first wife Inderpreet Kaur and their two children – Dilshan (17) and Seerat (21) – live in the United States. Mann and his first wife had filed for divorce in a Mohali court in 2015. His children visited India in March this year and attended his swearing-in ceremony as the chief minister of Punjab.
