Punjab: Action against SAD supremo Sukhbir Singh Badal for Facebook post

has asked the Mohali district electoral officer (DEO)-cum-deputy commissioner (DC) and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) to register an FIR against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on a complaint for violation of the model code of conduct for making appeal for votes from his official Facebook page during the silent period of 48 hours before polling.

The action from the CEO office came on a complaint filed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legal cell's state joint secretary advocate Ferry Sofat. The silent period had started from 6pm on Friday, but the SAD president circulated video much later.
