The university has asked the registrar Vikram Nayyar to write a letter to the Chandigarh administration seeking permission by mentioning the restrictions they are planning to impose on scholars.

During the meeting, the chief medical officer (CMO) of PU said it was not possible to allow the scholars in hostels, as the cases inside campus have increased a lot. The CMO said if need be, they can be allowed to access department laboratory. The dean research will collate the data of research scholars who need lab access from every department. The university will take an undertaking from the scholars that they will visit the labs without seeking hostel facility.
