Bathinda: A man in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) is accused of assaulting the conductor of a Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus at Dala village bus stand, situated on the Moga-Barnala highway, on Monday. The conductor, Jagsir Singh, was admitted to Moga civil hospital with injuries. Sources said besides beating the conductor, the accused also snatched his cash bag, but the police said this was yet to be confirmed.
A PRTC bus was going from Moga to Sangrur and when it reached the bus stand in Dala village, a man in an SUV arrived to drop some of his relatives at the bus stand. The accused, later identified as Basant Singh, started thrashing the conductor over some issue and, according to the conductor, he snatched his cash bag.

Mehna police station SHO Inspector Gurwinder Singh Bhullar said they received the information about Basant Singh beating up PRTC bus conductor Jagsir Singh, who was later admitted to Moga civil hospital. According to the initial investigation, Basant Singh's relative had slipped while boarding the bus, which infuriated him.
The police are yet to record the statement of the injured bus conductor about the snatching of the cash bag. Appropriate action will be taken as per his statement.
