I have been asked to return on Monday, she said. The apathy followed her to the clinic where she had to undergo a medical examination. While I was coughing, the lady doctor covered her face and was reluctant to touch me, she added. However, after braving threats from the family of two accused -- James and Nekram -- Sharmila is prepared. People have been trying to discourage me but I will fight on, she said.
Meanwhile, Pooja Thakur, who has been encouraging Sharmila to carry on with the case, said, We did not expect the arrests. This has motivated us to carry on.
