Pb minister does free eye surgery

Chandigarh: Punjab social security minister Dr Baljit Kaur, who also looks after women’s and child development, social justice, empowerment, and minorities, on Saturday performed a successful, free operation on the right eye of a mentally challenged patient, Gurjit Singh of Muktsar district. Sharing details of the operation, the minister said she had earlier operated upon Gurjit Singh’s left eye when she was in government service, and that serving individuals such him inspired her and gave her inner peace. She hoped that after this operation, Gurjit Singh will be able to see and lead a better life. tnn
