PANCHKULA: It has been three days but the police are still groping in the dark with regard to the car jacking strike that took place on June 25 near sector-12, Panchkula. Despite the fact that the miscreants had their faces uncovered, still the police are not able to nab the accused. The youths were in the age group of 20-25 years.
"Our investigations are on.
We are trying to take help of the CCTV footage from the ATM bank," said station house officer of the sector-5,police station, Nupur Bishnoi.
It was on June 25 when a sedan car, laptop, a gold bracelet and cash were looted at gunpoint by four unidentified youths near sector-12, Panchkula after the owner was kidnapped and then later thrown at the Landran road,Punjab. The owner, Vinay Kumar was made unconscious after he was made to smell a sedative. Kumar is a resident of sector-21, Panchkula.
Vinay was coming from Zirakpur after dropping one of his relatives when he stopped near sector-12,Panchkula for urination. Suddenly, four youth in the age group of 20-25 with uncovered faces came from behind and one of them hit him with the butt of his pistol. Later they made him smell a sedative. When Vinay woke up, he saw that all four of them were sitting in his car and he was near Landran.
Though Vinay tried hard to get free from their clutches but the youths again overpowered him by hitting him with the butt of their pistol and then later threw him on the Landran road, near Punjab side and fled with his car, cash, laptop, gold bracelet and other important documents.
When Vinay tried to raise alarm, the youths even fired a shot in the air and also told him that if he would make any noise, they would fire at him. Injured Vinay went to a near-by petrol pump and called up the police and his family and told about the incident.
This is not for the first time that this kind of an incident has taken place. Earlier too such kind of incidents with the same modus operandi have taken place.
