Police said that the Sadar Fatehabad police station has registered a case on the complaint of deceased’s son Mahesh against Mandeep Malik, a resident of Umra village and Jayesh Banga, a resident of Hisar.
Mahesh said his father ran a petrol pump, Radhe Krishna KSK, in partnership with Malik. All the papers were in the name of his father and Malik was only a nominal partner and there were no documents in writing of partnership. However, following a discord between the two, his father decided to sell the petrol pump for Rs 80 lakh on June 4, 2021, with the consent of Malik in front of the panchayat. After this, his father gave Rs 40 lakh to Malik as his share.
But later, Malik also got four blank cheques signed by his father. On April 16, 2022, Malik misused a check and got Rs 1.65 lakh withdrawn. When his father questioned the move, Malik said that he would not do this in future.
“After this, on August 29, 2022, a cheque of Rs 5 lakh was deposited in the bank in the name of a person named Jayesh Banga, which bounced and he (Banga) sent a legal notice to my father. After this, my father complained to the Hansi SP. The police recorded the statements of Malik and my father and filed the complaint. After this, Malik kept threatening my father that he would keep misusing his cheques as he had good relations with the top of the government officials,” the complainant said.
On June 4, 2023, his father, being mentally disturbed, wrote a suicide note and consumed poison near Baropal canal in Fatehabad. He was admitted to Agroha Medical but died during treatment on Thursday.
Malik, however, said that he was not in touch with Roshan Lal for about a year, and he too is shocked over the suicide.
