CHANDIGARH: A day after registration of case into the death of Neelam Rani and her newborn, officiating director of PGIMS Rohtak, K B Gupta on Friday offered to resign from the post.
Meanwhile, upset over the registration of case, the medical and para medical staff also went on strike and made a foiled attempt to disrupt the emergency services at the hospital.
"I have offered to leave charge on personal grounds. As far as strike by doctors is concerned, we are speaking to them to ensure that the services are not affected,'' said Gupta.
Taking congizance of media reports, health minister Anil Vij on Thursday had ordered registration of case into the death of Neelam Rani and her new born and allegation of assault leveled by Neelam's kins against doctors and staff on duty.
