Amritsar: New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visited the Guru Nanak Sikh Sangat Gurdwara in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland, Newzealnd, where he met with the officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj.
A release issued here on Sunday informed that both Christopher and Giani Gargaj discussed promoting mutual harmony and understanding among the
Sikh community and other communities residing in New Zealand.
They also deliberated on the significant contributions made by Sikhs towards the country's development and strengthening the community here. Giani Gargaj expressed gratitude towards PM Christopher for recognising and honouring the services rendered by the Sikh community in New Zealand.
The Jathedar also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Golden Temple, which, the release informed, he gladly accepted.
During the meeting, Jathedar Gargaj presented a model of Golden Temple as a gift to the Prime Minister, while Christopher gifted a watch to the Jathedar in return.
