Nangal youth dies of mysterious bullet injury

CHANDIGARH: Mystery shrouds the death of Sunny Chandel, a 26-year-old youth of Nangal in Anandpur Sahib, on Saturday. He was found dead with bullet injuries in his head in a Sector 52 hotel on Saturday.
The body was recovered when one of his friends, Gurpreet Singh, came to meet him. Police have also recovered a country-made pistol from the room and stermed it a case of suicide.The bullet was struck in a wall of the room after piercing through his head. Police have not recovered any suicide note.
DSP (south) B S Negi said Chandel had been staying with his friend Gurpreet in a rented accommodation in Sector 15, but for the last two weeks he was staying alone in the hotel. He said Sunny had booked a room in Hotel Hansraj on November 15 and Gurpreet came to meet him on Saturday.
Police have failed to establish the origin of country made pistol and also recovered a live cartridge from the room. A team of forensic experts from CFSL, Sector 36, also inspected the spot.
